Trick Williams def. Guru Raaj
With NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes singing his praises from the commentary desk, Trick Williams brought the fight and the trash talk to Guru Raaj.
While talking trash to anyone who would listen, Williams overpowered his foe in the early goings and blasted him with a vicious spinning heel kick.
Raaj briefly caught fire and staggered Williams with a reverse uppercut, but Williams once again blasted Raaj with a kick and caught him with a unique spinning neckbreaker for the three-count.
Ivy Nile def. Brooklyn Barlow via Submission
One of NXT Level Up’s early stars, Ivy Nile, put her undefeated singles record on the line against the debuting Brooklyn Barlow.
Not showing any nerves in her WWE debut, Barlow scored an early takedown and briefly caught her dangerous opponent in an armbar. Shortly after, she twice sent Nile careening to the canvas with a clothesline and a dropkick, though Nile quickly turned the bout in her favor with a punch to the midsection and a kick to the face.
With Barlow on wobbly legs, Nile followed up by ensnaring her in a dragon sleeper to force a tapout.
Grizzled Young Veterans def. Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen
When Brooks Jensen is focused, he and Josh Briggs are among the most impressive tandems in NXT.
Case in point, Jensen received a late tag from Briggs and hit the ring like he was fired out of a cannon, blitzing James Drake with several menacing strikes and knocking Zack Gibson from the apron to the floor.
Unfortunately, Jensen couldn’t help but be distracted when he locked eyes with a woman in the front row, and the momentary mental lapse immediately proved costly against former NXT UK Tag Team Champions The Grizzled Young Veterans. As Jensen attempted to suplex Drake back into the ring, Drake shifted to land on top of Jensen for a pinning combination, and Gibson held Jensen’s feet to the canvas to prevent him from kicking out.
After the bell, an incensed Fallon Henley verbally berated The Grizzled Young Veterans at ringside, and Briggs and Jensen attacked their newfound rivals, dragged Drake back into the ring and clobbered him with their trademark high-low maneuver.
