James Drake def. Xyon Quinn

Xyon Quinn’s menacing strikes were no match for the chicanery of The Grizzled Young Veterans.

Though Drake is more in his element in tag team competition, his partner wasn’t far away, as Zack Gibson meddled in the contest from bell to bell.

First, Gibson yanked Drake out of the ring after Quinn had dropped his foe with a vertical suplex before following up with a right hand to Quinn’s jaw when the official had his back turned. Then, when Quinn once again had Drake in dire straits, Gibson hopped onto the apron and distracted Quinn long enough for Drake to roll him up and get the three-count with a handful of tights.

After the bell, Quinn dragged Gibson into the ring by his tie and nearly drove him through the canvas with a unique slam.

Elektra Lopez def. Sarray

A resurgent Sarray stepped into the ring riding high on a three-match winning streak, but Elektra Lopez didn’t care.

The menacing competitor established dominance in the early goings, scoffing when The Warrior of the Sun offered a pre-match handshake and chucking her throat-first into the middle rope.

Sarray somehow rallied after Lopez dropped her with a wicked slam, leaping from the middle rope with a double stomp to the midsection, but Joaquin Wilde moved Lopez out of the way when The Warrior of the Sun was about to clock her with a dropkick to the face and absorbed the blow himself. Second later, Lopez hoisted Sarray over her head and planted her face-first into the canvas for the win.

Joe Gacy & Harland def. Jacket Time

While it’s fair to question the sincerity of Joe Gacy whenever he claims responsibility for creating a more inclusive and welcoming environment on NXT 2.0 and NXT Level Up (and previously on 205 Live), no one can argue with his track record.

Having won the final match in 205 Live history before leading Harland to a victory in NXT Level Up’s inaugural match, Gacy teamed up with his towering associate against the ever-popular duo of Kushida and Ikemen Jiro.

Though Gacy was the legal man more often than not, Harland operated with ruthless efficiency whenever he was in the match, at one point manhandling Jiro and repeatedly bouncing his head off the mat.

Kushida tagged into the match and had Gacy reeling, but Harland broke up a submission hold and received a tag of his own. Once he was the legal man, Harland wrecked Kushida with a nasty elbow to the face and landed a big splash on Jiro for the 1-2-3.
