Charlie Dempsey def. Myles Borne
If you enjoy evenly matched bouts between two technically proficient grapplers, Myles Borne vs. Charlie Dempsey was right up your alley.
Borne, who boasts impressive wins over the likes of Ikemen Jiro and Dante Chen, nearly picked up what might have been the biggest victory of his career when he hoisted his opponent onto his shoulders and dropped him with a modified electric chair before following with a ring-shaking powerslam.
Dempsey, however, continued his ascent since coming over from NXT UK, dodging a frog splash, clubbing Borne and folding him up with a spine-bending suplex.
Sol Ruca def. Dani Palmer
After breaking out a jaw-dropping backflip cutter to defeat Valentina Feroz in her last appearance on NXT Level Up, Sol Ruca was looking for an encore against her good friend Dani Palmer.
A three-time national champion at Baylor, Palmer, competing in her second match, went toe-to-toe with Ruca during some early mat grappling that featured an edge-of-your-seat series of rollup pin attempts.
Then Ruca went back to the well, bringing the NXT Arena to a frenzy by landing her devastating new aerial maneuver, dubbed the Soul Snatcher.
Trick Williams def. Hank Walker
From security officer to competing in the main event of NXT Level Up – that’s the path that the inspiring, blue-collar Hank Walker has taken over the last several months, but Trick Williams is one of the few that doesn’t seem moved by the underdog story.
Entering competition at 4-1 on WWE’s newest brand, the ever-confident Williams withstood a ring-rattling powerslam and recovered to level Walker with a spinning neckbreaker and the devastating Trick Kick for the 1-2-3.
