NXT Level Up results: July 29, 2022

Javier Bernal def. Myles Borne

It was fair to question Javier Bernal for his seeming lack of effort when he teamed with Myles Borne in a losing effort to Chase University. In the final seconds, Bernal didn’t appear to give it his best effort to interrupt the decisive pinfall. Now, after tonight’s singles bout against Borne, it appears fair game to question his sportsmanship as well.

Bernal spent much of the bout smirking at his less experienced opponent, but he certainly was in no laughing mood when Borne hoisted him into the air and sent him crashing to the canvas with a picture-perfect suplex.

Bernal went to the bag of tricks, however, flinging Borne into the turnbuckles, rolling him up and pinning him while grabbing the middle rope.

Fallon Henley def. Sol Ruca

For the second time in as many matches early in her WWE career, Sol Ruca dazzled the WWE Universe with some impressive athleticism against a more experienced opponent.

Opposed by Fallon Henley, who has shown impressive moxie while recently competing across NXT 2.0, NXT UK and NXT Level Up, Ruca once again put her world-class agility on full display when she eluded her hard-charging foe with a split-legged leap into the air and later cartwheeled her way into an arm lock.

After the two bumped heads, Henley dug deep to earn the win by sending Ruca face-first into the canvas and following up with a running knee strike.

Edris Enofé & Malik Blade def. Ikemen Jiro & Quincy Elliott

After Ikemen Jiro narrowly bested Quincy Elliott in a highly entertaining match two weeks ago, the two eccentric Superstars seemed destined to team up for at least one or two tag matches.

Edris Enofé and Malik Blade, however, showed exactly why they entered tonight’s main event with four consecutive wins on NXT Level Up, shaking off an early barrage by their opponents and landing several high-octane tandem maneuvers.

The WWE Universe chanted “we want Quincy” and got their wish when the gigantic competitor received the tag and blasted his opponents with thunderous shoulder blocks before following up with a splash on Blade, but nothing could prepare the NXT Arena for what happened next.

Blade tagged in Enofé, who countered Elliott’s slam attempt, somehow lifted him onto his shoulders and kept him in position for his partner. Seconds later, Blade launched himself into the air to drive Elliott into the canvas and claim the pinfall.
