The New Day def. SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos via Count-out
ST. LOUIS — The Usos retained the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at WWE Money in the Bank, but something fishy went down inside “The Uso Penitentiary” to ensure the twins kept their hardware.
In hindsight, perhaps The Usos were underestimating The New Day, or perhaps they were looking at them more as the previous iterations they had tussled with in the past. The brothers promptly singled out Kofi Kingston as the weak link of the challengers, subjecting him to a two-on-one attack that left The Dreadlocked Dynamo grasping for salvation and later locking his surgically-repaired knee in the Tequila Sunrise.
And yet, New Day persisted. The Usos hung tough, of course, at one point breaking up a pinfall a millisecond from the count of three following a Big Ending. Possibly sensing that ya boys were hotter on their heels than they would have preferred, Jimmy & Jey decided to straight-up leave, ditching New Day in the ring and taking a count-out loss, thereby assuring the SmackDown Tag Team Titles remained in their hands.
