The New Day def. Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles & Omos
After a wild brawl in the backstage area during the Extreme Rules Kickoff, The New Day put Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles & Omos in their place in a high-octane Six-Man Tag Team battle that kicked off the pay-per-view event.
Big E tagged into the bout early, and after flattening AJ Styles, he demanded The All Mighty enter the ring. Lashley soon found himself trapped in The New Day’s corner and on the receiving end of a Unicorn Stampede. But the powerful All Mighty rebounded, overpowering Kofi Kingston. And if things weren’t bad enough for Kingston, Lashley tagged Styles’ personal colossus, Omos, into the fray. The seven-footer exerted his will on Kingston, dominating the former WWE Champion.
But Kingston showed great resilience in fighting out of his opponents’ corner. Just as it looked like Kingston would tag in his partners after sending Lashley crashing to the arena floor, The All Mighty took out Big E and Xavier Woods at ringside. Eventually, the WWE Champion finally got back into the match, charging in like a house of fire.
Miscommunication between Styles and Lashley cost them the victory. After Styles tagged himself in, Lashley returned the favor as Styles launched into a Phenomenal Forearm attempt. The All Mighty attempted to catch Big E off guard with a Spear, but the WWE Champion dodged Lashley, sending him into The Phenomenal One. That gave Big E the opening to connect with a Big Ending on Lashley to give The New Day a huge win.
With Kingston and Woods back in his corner, along with the power of positivity, is there anyone who can stop Big E?
