5 reasons Seth Rollins will beat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania

On April 7, Seth Rollins will go one-on-one with arguably the most dominant Superstar to ever step in a WWE ring: Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. You might think The Kingslayer is an underdog heading into this showdown, but here are five reasons why he will slay The Beast at WrestleMania 35.

1

Seth Rollins can plan

First, Seth Rollins can devise a strategy better than anyone. It’s why he’s called The Architect. Rollins was credited for being the mastermind behind The Shield, planning layered attacks and being several steps ahead of his brothers, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, along the way. That allowed The Hounds of Justice to run roughshod over any group that tried to step in their way. Of course, Lesnar has the mastermind Paul Heyman in his corner, but Rollins has outsmarted him in the past — like when he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract during Lesnar’s match against Reigns at WrestleMania 31. So The Architect is heading into MetLife Stadium with the cerebral advantage.

Seth Rollins can reverse the German suplex

Seth Rollins can reverse the greatest tool in Brock Lesnar’s arsenal: the German suplex. The Beast Incarnate can lock his arms around an opponent’s waist and hurl them across the ring so many times that they’re struggling to stand … let alone breathe. A total of 16 German suplexes took the wind out of John Cena at SummerSlam 2014, securing Brock’s fourth World Championship.

Since then, Suplex City has become the domain of The Beast, but Rollins has shown that he’s agile enough to escape it. When the Superstars last faced off at WWE Battleground 2015, Rollins managed to land on his feet after a German suplex, completely flipping momentum in his favor. It doesn’t matter how many German suplexes Lesnar attempts, because Rollins is agile enough to land on his feet out of nowhere.

Seth Rollins can mix offenses

Seth Rollins can switch up offenses to leave Lesnar guessing. Recently, Finn Bálor relied mostly on agility and technique while Braun Strowman relied on strength and power in their matches against Lesnar. Rollins can mix it up, though.

This is a man who can superplex an opponent, then seamlessly pick him back up for a Falcon Arrow. He can fly through the air with a Frog Splash as graceful as that of Eddie Guerrero, who pinned Lesnar for the WWE Title 15 years ago, but he can also intercept a crossbody from John Cena and toss him into an Attitude Adjustment. Rollins can hit Lesnar with just about anything imaginable, making it tougher for The Beast to prepare.

Seth Rollins cannot be stopped at WrestleMania

Seth Rollins simply cannot be stopped at WrestleMania. The Architect has won at every WrestleMania in which he’s competed. At WrestleManias 29 and 30, Rollins and The Shield dominated on their way to victory. At WrestleMania 31, Rollins lost to Randy Orton, but recovered later in the night to defeat Lesnar and Reigns. Injuries sidelined him for WrestleMania 32, but The Kingslayer followed up with victories over former mentor Triple H at WrestleMania 33 and Finn Bálor and The Miz for the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 34.

Seth Rollins can get back up

Lastly, Seth Rollins might go down, but he can always get back up. Rollins refused to turn his attention away from Lesnar after six F-5s in January. When Paul Heyman tried to warn Rollins that he would be the “architect of his own demise” at WrestleMania 35, The Kingslayer matter-of-factly said he didn’t care.

Rollins is on a mission to do everything humanly possible to leave MetLife Stadium with the Universal Championship. This is the same person who destroyed The Shield when it was stronger than ever because he believed he was ready to be an icon. It’s the same person who was bold enough to cash in his Money in the Bank contract during the main event of WrestleMania … which featured an unstoppable Brock Lesnar.

Ultimately, when Rollins says he’s going to do something, he’s going to make it a reality, and that makes him the most dangerous man heading into WrestleMania.
