Baron Corbin def. Kalisto (Chairs Match)
DALLAS — Kalisto may have hoped that his Chairs Match with Baron Corbin would play out like the biblical showdown between David and Goliath. However, at WWE TLC 2016, the monstrous Lone Wolf left Kalisto laid out in a pile of mangled steel.
The Lucha Dragon was furious before the bell even rang. He grabbed any steel chair within reach and tossed it into the ring, finally taking one for himself and readying for Corbin’s arrival. Despite Kalisto’s early barrage of high-flying offense, The Lone Wolf got a hold of the luchador and hurled him into a pile of chairs at ringside.
Corbin propped up a steel chair between the top and middle ropes, but would soon taste the steel himself, when Kalisto launched him into it. The Lone Wolf also took the time to arrange six chairs to inflict maximum punishment, but may have regretted that decision after Kalisto sent him crashing through the chairs with a seated senton.
Kalisto’s fortunes turned for the worse when he took flight toward Corbin at ringside. The monstrous Corbin caught the masked marvel and planted him into the arena floor with the Deep Six. Still, Kalisto had enough energy left to dart out of the way of a chair-wielding Lone Wolf. The Lucha Dragon threw everything he had at Corbin, including a moonsaulting double knee drop onto a chair draped across his rival’s midsection. Yet The Lone Wolf would not stay down.
Grabbing another chair, the luchador unloaded on Corbin, and the sound of steel colliding with bone echoed through the American Airlines Center. However, when Kalisto dove off the ropes to try and end the bout once and for all, Corbin was waiting. The Lone Wolf swatted Kalisto out of the air with a chair, then planted the masked man face-first into a pile of steel chairs with End of Days to get the victory. After the bell, a rage-fueled Corbin made it clear that the same fate awaited anyone who steps in his path. “It will be their end of days,” The Lone Wolf roared.
