Candice LeRae def. Ember Moon
Ember Moon dominated the early action behind a fiery start, though the numbers game eventually proved difficult to overcome. Not only was Candice LeRae joined by protege Indi Hartwell, but their new allies Dakota Kai and Raquel González made their way to ringside as well. Hartwell's presence proved pivotal as she shoved LeRae out of the way to instead take Moon's Eclipse, allowing LeRae to capitalize and win with the Wicked Stepsister.
An even bigger surprise occurred afterward, however. Toni Storm arrived and appeared ready to once again join forces with Moon, but Storm floored the former NXT Women's Champion with a punch, allowing Moon to be further decimated by LeRae and company. Storm later revealed herself as the fourth member of Team Candice for WarGames.
Kushida def. Timothy Thatcher
Tommaso Ciampa may finally be closing in on what he wanted. The Blackheart strode down to ringside for a front-row seat after recently making it clear that he wanted a piece of Timothy Thatcher. While Thatcher and Kushida traded their technical wizardry, Ciampa's presence proved to be too distracting for Thatcher, who took his focus off Kushida long enough to turn the tide in the NXT Time Splitter's favor. With Kushida forcing him to submit with the Hoverboard Lock, Thatcher was left incensed with The Blackheart.
Cameron Grimes def. Jake Atlas
Cameron Grimes picked up yet another victory thanks to the Cave-In, but he wasn't much of a winner afterward. Dexter Lumis emerged behind The Technical Savage before his nemesis quickly fled the scene. Grimes will only be able to duck Lumis for so long, however, as NXT General Manager William Regal announced the two would battle in a Strap Match at NXT TakeOver: WarGames.
Pete Dunne def. Kyle O'Reilly in a WarGames Advantage Ladder Match
Pete Dunne claimed the WarGames advantage for his team against The Undisputed ERA in dubious fashion after a brutal battle. Both Superstars used the stipulation to their advantage, with Dunne executing a vicious powerbomb on a ladder, while Kyle O'Reilly resorted to a ladder-assisted leg lock and repeatedly targeted The BruiserWeight's left leg with several dragon screws and an array of expertly delivered kicks. Dunne delivered perhaps his biggest blow with a superplex from the apron through a ladder, though it took a great deal out of both competitors.
The UE's martial-arts master looked destined for victory after sending Dunne flying off the ladder onto another leaning in a corner. But just as O'Reilly was fingertips from grabbing the briefcase suspended above the ring, a masked man knocked him off the ladder as well, sending him crashing to the outside and rendering the victory for Dunne academic.
