The Miz def. Kofi Kingston (Survivor Series Kickoff Match)

The Miz def. Kofi Kingston (Survivor Series Kickoff Match)

BOSTON – A re-awakened rivalry served as the high-octane precursor to WWE’s fall classic, as the cunning Miz squeaked by Kofi Kingston for an explosive Survivor Series Kickoff Match victory.

The personal showdown came less than a week after Miz abandoned Kingston on Raw, leaving his high-flying tag team partner to the mercy of The Real Americans and an excruciating Patriot Lock that forced The Wildcat to tap out.

The exciting pay-per-view showdown may have started with a handshake. However, from the opening bell – streamed live on WWE.com, the WWE App, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo!, Google+, Pinterest and Pheed, as well as on Samsung Smart TVs, Xbox Live and Sony PS3  – it was clear that every moment of the furious conflict would be a fast-paced thrill ride.

Both Superstars left it all on the canvas, with the advantage changing hands countless times from one fierce competitor to the other. Then, in the height of the action, the Awesome One would ultimately prove himself the better man, countering Kofi’s rollup  to pick up the quick three-count on the four-time Intercontinental Champion.

The friction didn’t cense with the bell, though, for when the triumphant Miz extended his hand yet again for another handshake, a fed-up Kofi opted to slap the former World Champion’s face and exited the ring without a word.

Don’t miss The Miz in  “Christmas Bounty,” this Tuesday at 7/6 CT, only on ABC Family.
