Titus O'Neil def. Darren Young

Titus O'Neil def. Darren Young

MINNEAPOLIS – The bad blood between Titus O’Neil and Darren Young finally boiled over at Elimination Chamber, with O’Neil securing a hard-fought win over his former Prime Time Players partner.

In recent weeks – following the former Florida Gators star’s vicious assault on Young on the Jan. 31 edition of SmackDown – the two exchanged harsh words and sneak attacks, setting the stage for an extremely personal and hard-hitting confrontation. And that’s exactly what unfolded in front of a packed house of WWE fans at Minneapolis’ Target Center.

After a tie-up to start the match, Titus used his strength to throw the smaller Superstar around the ring, flattening him with a big shoulder block. Darren turned the tables and clotheslined his aggressive opponent over the top rope. Keeping the pressure on, “Mr. No Days Off” hit “The Real Deal” with a big clothesline. Titus kicked out of the pin attempt and regained momentum, showing off his power by tossing Darren over the ring post and sending him crashing to the floor.

Titus rag-dolled his former tag team partner around the ring, but Young fought back valiantly with elbows before going up on the ropes again. O’Neil, however, caught Young’s cross body attempt mid-air and hit a ruthless backbreaker.

Darren fought back to his feet, nailing Titus with heavy punches and a big clothesline. He let off further steam on his rival with a ring-shaking back body drop and a neckbreaker on the apron. Yet Titus managed to fight through the pain, nailing a vicious kidney punch and then Clash of the Titus for the three-count and cathartic victory.

In defeat, “Mr. No Days Off” more than lived up to his nickname, fighting bravely against his much larger and stronger former friend. Despite this setback, the future remains bright for Young.

O’Neil proved that he still looks like “millions of dollars.” If his rivalry with Young has been extinguished once and for all, where might “The Big Deal” turn his attention next?
