All NXT Champion Drew McIntyre ever asked of prospective challengers is to be man enough to challenge him face-to-face. Despite the clear-cut instructions, Andrade “Cien” Almas & Zelina Vega have opted for a different method: While Almas has racked up wins, by hook or by crook, against some of NXT’s elite, he and Vega have relentlessly needled the hulking champion. In fact, it seems like Almas has done everything except issue a face-to-face challenge.
However, last week, after accusing McIntyre of being scared to wrestle him, Almas finally declared that he would meet McIntyre in the flesh this week on NXT, an offer that the Scottish brute was all too happy to accept.
Instead of allowing Almas and McIntyre to tear into each other at will, William Regal interjected on Twitter with major news of his own, announcing that Almas will face McIntyre for the title on Saturday, Nov. 18, at NXT TakeOver: Houston. The General Manager added that if the champion and challenger come face-to-face tonight, it will be to sign a match contract and make their TakeOver showdown official.
Will McIntyre and Almas keep their tempers in check when they finally meet in person?
