Brie Bella & the WWE Divas dish on Daniel Bryan's proposal, the wedding and more
Wedding bells are ringing for Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan after the two-time WWE Champion proposed to the Bella Twin last weekend in Big Sur, Calif. And even though a few days have passed since Bryan popped the question, the former Divas Champion is still on cloud nine.
"I was ready for it, but I was definitely shocked when Daniel proposed to me,” Brie told WWE.com of the engagement. “I felt like I knew it was coming sooner than later, but I wasn't expecting it, on this beautiful hike in Big Sur. It was so amazing."
The sentiment, it turns out, isn’t just shared by the Divas but the WWE locker room at large as well.
“Not only were the Divas so excited and wanted to see my engagement ring, it was crazy to see how many Superstars came up to me and gave me such a huge hug,” said Brie. “All the Superstars wanted to hear the details. It was really cute to see the guys like that."
There was, of course, one Diva in particular who was especially excited for the big news.
“I'm really, really happy and excited for my sister, and nothing makes me happier than being her maid of honor,” said Nikki Bella, who is already looking forward to welcoming her new brother-in-law into the family. “I just love Daniel, [even though] he and I couldn't be more opposite. I'm really excited because he's very honest with me, so I know I can always go up to Daniel and get honest advice even if it kills me. So I'm very excited to have him as my brother-in-law."
As the euphoria sets in, now comes the hard part: planning the wedding. While the final locker-room invitees have yet to be determined, there is already one or two who are in danger of missing the cut — though, admittedly, some more than others.
“Oh, Randy Orton for sure will not be invited,” said Brie of her fiancé’s recent rival before turning coy. “And, you know, some of those 'Total Divas.' I don't know if I'm going to have the whole cast. If Eva Marie is behaving herself, she can come, but I don't know."
Happily, one recent veteran of WWE nuptials was on hand to give her advice to the future husband and wife. “Just take it one day at a time, because with WWE, everything is big, so it's going be a big deal,” said Natalya. “She's going to have people wanting to give her suggestions and offering advice. So she just needs to take it all in, but mainly stay true to herself and Bryan, and what's important to them."

Among those important details? The bachelorette party. Natalya wouldn’t rule out Las Vegas again, though Nikki is eying a wine country celebration. Details aside, the bride-to-be says she is grateful for the support she and Bryan have received from WWE fans. She is also glad that milestones from their relationship have been captured on “Total Divas.”
"The one thing I want to say is that this is such a special moment in my life, and the fact that ‘Total Divas’ was filming, I'm so excited to let the WWE Universe see what I went through, and could experience a moment that I will remember for the rest of my life,” Brie said. “WWE Universe, you let us into your lives every week, so I'm happy I get to let you into mine."
