Lilian Garcia sings the National Anthem before the New York Jets-Buffalo Bills game

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — WWE Diva Lilian Garcia returned to MetLife Stadium, home of WrestleMania 29, on Sept. 22 to perform the National Anthem before the New York Jets played the Buffalo Bills.

“It makes me feel very honored,” Garcia told WWE.com about her performance.

Garcia’s performance was part of the Jets’ celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month. This is the ninth time overall Garcia has sung “The Star-Spangled Banner” for Gang Green.

The Diva says she feels a special connection with the stadium.

“It’s an awesome place with awesome energy,” she said. “I love singing at MetLife Stadium.”

Lilian is revered by the WWE Universe for her stirring rendition of the National Anthem. The Diva says the song has a deeper meaning to her, because of her background as the child of a retired Lt. Col. in the Army.

“As an Army brat, the anthem means so much to me that I put every bit of passion I can in the song,” she explained. “It makes me so proud to sing for our amazing country.”

The Diva’s performance seems to have a special effect on Gang Green, too. After their 27-20 victory over the Bills, the Jets have an 8-1 record in games featuring a performance by Lilian.

“I may just be the Jets' good luck charm,” she said.
