Shayna Baszler: Bio

Shayna Baszler

There are plenty of tough women in WWE, but only one of them used to fight in a cage for a living.

The Queen of Spades is one of the true pioneers of women’s MMA, as well as a member of the MMA Four Horsewomen faction alongside the likes of Ronda Rousey. A devotee of catch wrestling, a time-tested, hybrid form of grappling, Baszler trained extensively under former UFC Heavyweight Champion Josh Barnett and even studied under U.K. wrestling legend Billy Robinson.

After vanquishing many a foe inside the octagon, The Submission Magician chose to apply her martial craft to the squared circle, and her skills translated quickly. Capturing the NXT Women’s Championship on two separate occasions, she still holds the record for total days spent as NXT Women’s Champion.

On Raw, Baszler laid waste to numerous opponents with her patented Kirifuda Clutch and found success as a WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion with Nia Jax. After ruthlessly attacking Jax and ending the partnership, however, Baszler was selected by SmackDown in the 2021 WWE Draft.

Recently baszler has been joined by her best friend and fellow former UFC fighter Rousey, with the two combining forces, taking over SmackDown and Raw. After being victorious at WrestleMania in a "WrestleMania Showcase" Fatal-4-Way Tag Team Match, Rousey and Baszler were drafted to Raw. Rousey and Baszler earned their first tag team gold together after they won the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles in a frenetic Fatal-4-Way Tag Team Match on the May 29th episode of Raw.

Simply put, stepping into the ring with Shayna means you have three choices: tap, snap or nap.
