This week's MEP is without question, the ECW World Champion, Bobby Lashley. As a result of accepting Donald Trump's offer to represent Trump vs. Mr. McMahon and Umaga at WrestleMania 23, Lashley earned the wrath of the WWE Chairman. On Raw, Mr. McMahon said he would show up on ECW and make Lashley's life a living hell, and the Chairman attempted to do just that.
Lashley was scheduled to defend the ECW World Title against Hardcore Holly inside a steel cage, but Mr. McMahon then said that if Lashley did not defeat Holly in five minutes or less, Lashley would lose the championship. In essence, Holly was set up to win Lashley's title without having to beat the champion. To make matters worse, Mr. McMahon then sent Lashley's WrestleMania opponent, Umaga to cage-side to distract the ECW World Champion. It seemed like a hopeless situation for Lashley.
Unbelievably, not only did Bobby Lashley beat Hardcore Holly in just less than five minutes, but Lashley then created a highlight for the new ECW that would have fit in extremely well (pun intended) with the original ECW, when he launched himself through the steel cage and on top of the Samoan Bulldozer. As a fan, I cannot wait to see the unstoppable athlete vs. the uncontrollable savage at WrestleMania 23.
