New NXT Champion Sami Zayn stretchered out of NXT TakeOver following attack

ORLANDO, Fla. — Newly crowned NXT Champion Sami Zayn was stretchered from ringside Thursday night after an attack by Kevin Owens at the close of WWE NXT TakeOver: R Evolution.

During the ambush, which followed Zayn’s NXT Title win over Adrian Neville, Owens viciously powerbombed Zayn onto the edge of the ring apron.

Though WWE.com was unsuccessful in confirming Zayn’s condition with WWE’s medical staff, speculation in the locker room was that Zayn suffered a neck injury of some kind.
