The Mega Powers exploded in an emotional main event at WrestleMania V, as WWE Champion Randy "Macho Man" Savage defended against his former best friend, Hulk Hogan. Driven by jealousy over Hogan's friendship with his valet, Elizabeth, Savage betrayed his friend to set up this WWE Championship match. Torn, the lovely Miss Elizabeth watched the historic main event match from a neutral corner.
Savage took it straight to the bigger challenger and nearly defeated him with his devastating Flying Elbow. But Hogan recovered to defeat the Macho Man and capture his second WWE Championship. Hogan's victory ended Savage's WWE Championship reign that lasted over one year.
