Big Show faced Akebono in the first ever Sumo Match in WWE history.
"Rowdy" Roddy Piper hosted a WrestleMania edition of Piper's Pit for the first time since WrestleMania V.
The WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2005 was introduced during WrestleMania 21. The inductees were: Hulk Hogan, "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff, "Cowboy" Bob Orton Jr., Jimmy Hart, Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.
Undertaker improved his WrestleMania record to an amazing 13-0 against Randy Orton.
Both the WWE and World Heavyweight Championship changed hands as John Cena defeated JBL and Batista defeated Triple H, respectively.
