Booker T def. Chris Benoit (best-of-seven series)

After the controversial finish to their match on Friday Night SmackDown, the playing field was leveled for Booker T and Chris Benoit at Survivor Series. However, Benoit knew he would have to keep one eye firmly planted on Sharmell; and in the end, she would play an instrumental role.

Early in the match, Benoit kept Booker off guard, working the arm and midsection of the former U.S. Champion. Booker would make his comeback, but Benoit had an answer for nearly everything Booker threw at him. Benoit managed to get Booker in position for the sharpshooter, but the former champion managed an escape.

As the match neared conclusion, Benoit hit his patented rolling German suplexes, and went to the top rope to attempt the flying headbutt. Sharmell distracted Benoit, allowing Booker to meet his foe on the ropes. Benoit fought him off, but Booker avoided the flying headbutt. He then rolled up his opponent, putting his feet on the ropes for leverage. Sharmell held them down for extra added measure, and Booker scored the tainted pinfall to take a 1-0 lead in their Best-of-7 Series for the United States Championship.
