Arena Report - Kansas Coliseum

Friday Night SmackDown stays in Kansas this week as King Booker and the other Superstars in the SmackDown Kingdom come to the Britt Brown Arena at the Kansas Coliseum in Wichita, Kan.

The last time SmackDown broadcasted from the Kansas Coliseum was Sept. 30, 2004. That night, United States Champion Booker T defeated Paul London in a non-title match. Also, a memorable match took place between WWE Champion John Bradshaw Layfield and Hardcore Holly. When JBL lost via DQ early on, he continued to beat the bloody Holly senseless. Upon finishing, JBL vowed to end Undertaker's career three days later at No Mercy.

SmackDown's other visit to the Kansas Coliseum took place on Nov. 29, 2001, when Undertaker defeated Tazz after a devastating choke slam and William Regal took on "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in a brutal Leather Strap Match.

The Kansas Coliseum opened in 1978. It currently serves as home to the Wichita Thunder ice hockey team.
