Nick Aldis and Gunther signed a contract for their match at SummerSlam, a document that also relinquished Aldis' responsibilities as SmackDown General Manager temporarily and made sure WWE was not responsible for anything that happens between him and The Ring General. Aldis attacked Gunther to ignite a brawl that ended with The Ring General slamming his rival through a table.  
 

Brie Bella def. Lainey Reid. Nikki Bella returned to announce huge SummerSlam Six-Women Tag Team Match
 


Moments after Brie Bella defeated WWE Women's Tag Team Champion Lainey Reid with a quick pin, Nikki Bella returned from injury to help Brie and Paige repel Fatal Influence's treacherous post-match attack before challenging Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid to a Six-Woman Tag Team Match at SummerSlam. 

Chelsea Green def. Kiana James in an Interim WWE Women’s Championship Ladder Match Qualifying Match
 


Chelsea Green bested Kiana James with the Unprettier to qualify for the Interim WWE Women’s Championship Ladder Match at SummerSlam. 

Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk and Cody Rhodes engaged in a war of words ahead of their epic title match at SummerSlam. 
 

Charlotte Flair def. Nia Jax by Disqualification in an Interim WWE Women’s Championship Ladder Match Qualifying Match
 


Charlotte Flair qualified for the Interim WWE Women’s Championship Ladder Match at SummerSlam after an altercation between Flair and Jade Cargill led to The Storm losing her temper and attacking The Queen. This resulted in a disqualification and cost Nia Jax another opportunity to qualify.

Finn Bálor def. Damian Priest, Trick Williams, and Royce Keys in a Fatal 4-Way Match
 



Shortly after Solo Sikoa and LA Knight emerged to brawl with The Usos to the backstage area, Jacob Fatu took out Royce Keys. 

Moments later, Finn Bálor hit Damian Priest with the Coup de Grace to defeat Priest, Keys and Trick Williams. With the win, The Prince earned the right to compete in an Undisputed WWE Championship No. 1 Contender's Match at SummerSlam.
