Drew McIntyre assaulted Karrion Kross in the parking lot
Sami Zayn def. Kofi Kingston
Much like previous weeks Jey Uso was in Sami Zayn’s corner but after a phone call from Roman Reigns, “Main Event” Jey Uso seemed more willing to offer aid to his honorary Bloodline member.
Jey Uso took umbrage with Xavier Woods’ presence by Superkicking him, allowing Zayn to hit the Blue Thunder Bomb in the fracas for a close two count.
Kingston had Zayn locked up in a pinning attempt but Jey proved key, pushing Kingston so that Zayn was pinning Kingston instead. This let Zayn pick up the much-needed victory.
Omos crashed Braun Strowman’s victory over local competitors
Braun Strowman quickly dismantled James Maverick and Brian Thomas swiftly and deftly with the Monster Bomb.
The bigger story was the Nigerian Giant Omos and his manager MVP crashing the party. After the contest MVP berated the Monster Among Men, unimpressed with the former Universal Champion.
LA Knight def. månsôör
The implosion of Maximum Male Models continued as LA Knight made quick work of former client månsôör, dispatching him with the BFT.
After the match ma.cé tried to gain some retribution for his friend but was outmatched by Knight who sent him tumbling. Knight then took the microphone and explained exactly who LA Knight is.
Damage CTRL def. Raquel Rodriguez, Shotzi & Roxanne Perez
Roxanne Perez made her first SmackDown appearance, picking Raquel Rodriguez to face Cora Jade on NXT, much to the dismay of Bayley. Perez then followed up on this debut of sorts by teaming with Rodriguez and Shotzi to take on Damage CTRL.
Just as Rodriguez was about to slam Kai onto the mat outside with a Tejana Bomb, IYO SKY flew over the top rope with a moonsault to rescue her teammate. Not to be outdone Shotzi flew onto the three competitors as well leaving all four down on the outside.
This allowed Bayley to hit the Bayley-to-Belly but could only get a two count. A fantastic back-and-forth between Perez and Bayley ended when Bayley secured the pinfall for the win.
Legado del Fantasma def. Hit Row
Cruz del Toro and Joaquin Wilde looked to make a winning start to their SmackDown career by taking on perennial rivals Ashante Adonis and Top Dolla of Hit Row.
The chaos began instantly when Hit Row and Legado del Fantasma went at it on the rampway before the bell rang.
Just as the match was getting going, Santos Escobar hit Adonis off the top-rope, allowing Legado to earn the win with the Sacrificio.
Rey Mysterio def. Sheamus, Ricochet & Solo Sikoa in a Fatal 4-Way Match to earn a shot at the Intercontinental Championship
Earlier in the evening Rey Mysterio emotionally told Triple that he wished to quit but The Game wanted to work something out. Concurrently Karrion Kross, who was scheduled to take part in this match, was taken out by Drew McIntyre leaving an open spot in the field.
Luckily for the WWE Universe it was Rey Mysterio who took the final place, shocking Ricochet, Sheamus and Solo Sikoa.
During the contest it was announced that Mysterio had joined the SmackDown brand and the Master of the 619 wasted no time introducing himself to his competitors, even facing off against Sheamus for the first time ever.
As Sheamus had Sikoa locked in the Cloverleaf Sami Zayn and Jey Uso came to the aid of their Bloodline teammate but they were thwarted by the rest of the Brawling Brutes. This led to all-out mayhem as the two factions brawled their way out of the match.
Ricochet and Mysterio were the last two Superstars standing, delivering an incredible back-and-forth that in the end was capitalized by Mysterio who hit the 619, winning the match and a future chance at GUNTHER’s Intercontinental Title.
