Seth Rollins returns to SmackDown
Seth Rollins shocked the WWE Universe at Extreme Rules when he returned from a knee injury to Pedigree Roman Reigns following The Big Dog’s successful WWE World Heavyweight Title defense against AJ Styles. The next night on Raw, Shane McMahon — recognizing that The Architect was never actually defeated for the WWE World Heavyweight Title — announced that Rollins will challenge Reigns for WWE’s most coveted championship on Sunday, June 19 at WWE Money in the Bank.
Despite spending six months on the shelf with a torn right ACL, MCL and medial meniscus, the time off did nothing to tame the cocky and brash Rollins, who lashed out at the WWE Universe Monday. Arrogance aside, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion is back and determined to regain “his” title. What will the No. 1 contender have to say when he returns to SmackDown? Will we see another tense confrontation between champion and challenger?
