SmackDown Five-Point Preview: July 26, 2013
What will happen when The Wyatt Family indoctrinates SmackDown?
Since making their arrival in WWE, The Wyatt Family has set their sights on none other than The Big Red Monster, Kane. Tonight, the enigmatic Bray Wyatt and his followers, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan, come to the blue brand with what we can only assume is malicious intent.
The Wyatt Family attacks | WWE.com goes into the woods
With demonstrated attacks on Kane, R-Truth, 3MB and Justin Gabriel thus far, The Wyatt Family is yet to compete in an official match. That all changes tonight, as the shudder-inducing ”family” will compete in their first-ever match. The towering duo of Rowan & Harper will take on the massive Tons of Funk in what should be an all-out brawl. Can The Wyatt Family back up their macabre messages with an equally brutal in-ring repertoire? Tune in tonight to the blue brand.
Who will win the battle of “Mr. Money in the Bank”?
When the dust settled and all the broken remains of ladders were finally removed from Philly’s Wells Fargo Center on July 14, two Superstars emerged from the Money in the Bank pay-per-view with championship contracts in hand. And tonight, Randy Orton and Damien Sandow — winners of the All-Stars Ladder Match and the World Heavyweight Championship Contract Ladder Match, respectively — will square off in a battle of “Messrs. Money in the Bank.”
Who will emerge victorious tonight, and, perhaps more importantly, will that win carry with it the winds of momentum to a possible cash-in? Find out tonight, only on Syfy!
Will the World Heavyweight Champion ground RVD?
Rob Van Dam comes to SmackDown tonight with one goal in mind — to rise above World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio. In a match that was announced Monday on Raw, RVD will bring the extreme to the blue brand and look to keep rolling along on his winning streak.
Since returning to WWE at Money in the Bank, the ECW Original is 3-0 in singles competition, including an impressive victory over the first-ever Undisputed WWE Champion, Chris Jericho.
Can “Mr. Monday Night” drop the titleholder, or will the devious Del Rio find a way to ground the highflier? Find out tonight on SmackDown, at 8/7 CT, only on Syfy!
Will CM Punk drop a SmackDown pipebomb?
With “ The Best vs. The Beast” official for SummerSlam (thanks to a verbal agreement via Brock Lesnar’s mouthpiece, Paul Heyman), CM Punk arrives on the blue brand tonight, ready to deliver what we can only guess will be a vitriolic verbal assault aimed directly at Heyman and The Anomaly.
Relive Punk firs t pipebomb! | The Beast's biggest F-5s
But what, exactly, will Punk have to say?
The Straight Edge Superstar has already stated that he doesn’t fear the bigger, stronger Lesnar, but as the WWE Universe is well aware, whenever Punk gets his hands on a microphone, absolutely anything can happen. What message will the former WWE Champion deliver to his former business associate and his frightening client? Find out on Friday night’s best show, tonight on Syfy!
Divas Champion AJ Lee to deliver her “State of Mind” address
Okay, let’s face it — Divas Champion AJ Lee doesn’t exactly appear to be playing with a full deck of cards, if you catch our drift. But, as she’s shown in the past, perhaps the pint-sized powder keg is simply crazy like a fox, and she does — despite all evidence to the contrary — have some kind of grand scheme in mind.
The Showoff breaks it off with AJ | Stephanie vs. AJ?
Think about it for a second: AJ has made a habit out of winning mind games — and, not to mention, matches — against former titleholder (and former best friend) Kaitlyn, and she shows no signs of letting her grasp on the prestigious championship slip. But recent … moments … with Big E Langston — not to mention, Dolph Ziggler — may have saddled AJ with even more emotional baggage.
So, will the Divas Champion unveil her plans tonight on SmackDown … or will we find out that her state of mind isn’t exactly in good standing? Find out at 8/7 CT, only on Syfy!
