ECW Champion Christian def. Ezekiel Jackson

ECW Champion Christian def. Ezekiel Jackson

ATLANTA -- For weeks, No. 1 Contender Ezekiel Jackson has been tormenting ECW Champion Christian on ECW on Syfy. Big Zeke, and his ruthless associate, William Regal, have subjected Captain Charisma to brutal beatings and merciless losses. But Jackson's reign of domination has finally ceased, as the ever-resilient Christian defeated his nemesis to retain the ECW Championship at Royal Rumble.

Christian has defended his ECW Title against many opponents, from ECW Original Tommy Dreamer, to "The All-American American" Jack Swagger, to Extreme newcomer Yoshi Tatsu. Arguably, none of these competitors in Christian's past have been quite as physically and mentally daunting as Jackson.

Earlier this month, The Guyanese Goliath bulldozed through seven other Superstars to win the ECW Homecoming Finale's Over-the-Top-Rope Challenge on ECW on Syfy. In the following weeks, win or lose, Jackson and Regal continued to torment Christian on the road to Royal Rumble. But when it mattered most, Christian again prevailed, using the heart, soul and intestinal fortitude he's relied on throughout his ECW career.

Despite attempted interference by a ringside British Brawler, who was sent back to the locker room area by the WWE official during the match, Christian hit Big Zeke with a trusty Killswitch for the pinfall in the long-anticipated match. With his victory, Christian remains the longest reigning champion in WWE, holding the ECW Title since July. More importantly, he finally ended the reign of wicked domination by Jackson and Regal in the Land of the Extreme.
