Arena Report - Hampton Coliseum
May 14, 2007
HAMPTON, Va. -- Tonight, the Raw Superstars roll into the Hampton Coliseum. This 13,000-plus seat arena has hosted Raw twice before, along with numerous concerts and sporting events.
In 2005, Raw emanated from the arena just one night after SummerSlam 2005. Last year, SmackDown rocked the arena with an event that featured then World Heavyweight Champion Batista squaring off against Santa Claus!
Since first opening its doors to the public 1970, the Hampton Coliseum has served a variety of purposes. From 1967-1976 the coliseum was home to the American Basketball Association's Virginia Squires. Both the Virginia Wings and Hampton Gulls of the American Hockey League once called the coliseum home.
Music acts like Phish, the Rolling Stones and the Dave Matthews Band have all taken the stage of the coliseum.
For a look inside the coliseum, catch Raw at 9/8 CT on USA Network!
