Raw Five-Point Preview: Dec. 8, 2014

There have been countless awards shows on television this year, but nothing stacks up to the WWE Slammy Awards, where the WWE Universe chooses which Superstars, moments and matches will receive top honors, and you’ll vote for the winners during the show exclusively on the WWE App!

As “Robot Chicken” co-creator and longtime WWE Universe member Seth Green serves as guest host of both Raw and the Slammy Awards, what can we expect from a night that will be equal parts illustrious and exciting? WWE.com has some ideas.

What’s Seth Rollins planning?

John Cena, Ryback & Dolph Ziggler vs. Seth Rollins, Kane & Luke Harper: Raw, December 1, 2014

Rivals collide in this chaotic six-man Raw main event.

Last week on Raw, after Seth Rollins put John Cena through a table, the Cenation leader got some major retribution against Mr. Money in the Bank and his allies in the night’s main event, which saw Cena, Dolph Ziggler & Ryback score a big victory over Rollins, Kane & Luke Harper. Rollins’ frustration is no doubt compounded after what happened on SmackDown, where he and Big Show suffered defeat to Ryback & Erick Rowan.

Just six nights before Cena and Rollins clash in a Tables Match at WWE TLC: Tables Ladders & Chairs … and Stairs, Rollins will be looking to gain some key momentum over the 15-time World Champion. As Cena prepares to battle Big Show on Raw, what machinations does the so-called “future of WWE” have in store before WWE’s Demolition Derby?

Stair-ing contest

Raw Five-Point Preview: Dec. 8, 2014

Well, that escalated quickly. Last week on Raw, Erick Rowan and Big Show used steel steps to batter one another, inspiring WWE’s first-ever Stairs Match, which will be waged live on WWE Network at WWE TLC.

We’ve learned a lot about “Big Red” Rowan in the past week. He has a 143 IQ, he’s a classically trained guitar player and he’s an award-wining vintner. How will this unique goliath’s newly revealed intellect play into what’s sure to be a barbaric contest against The World’s Largest Athlete? Will these two behemoths collide in wince-inducing fashion Monday night on Raw? If both Rowan and Big Show are in the same building, that’s a safe bet.

What’s The Miz’s motivation?

The Miz has a few words for Naomi: Raw, December 1, 2014

The Miz compliments and congratulates Naomi.

The Miz has suffered the wrath of Jimmy Uso since Monday night, and with good reason. On Raw, after The Usos earned the right to challenge The Miz & Damien Mizdow for the WWE Tag Team Titles at WWE TLC, the self-professed “A-lister” approached Jimmy’s wife Naomi and offered his congratulations, and then gave her some unsolicited career guidance. The over-the-line encounter earned Miz a hard smack across the face from Jimmy later that night.

Jimmy would go on to defeat an unapologetic Miz on WWE Main Event Tuesday night, but the bearer of “The Moneymaker” wasn’t done tormenting the happy couple. On SmackDown, before Miz battled Jimmy’s twin brother Jey, The Awesome One continued to fawn over Naomi’s skills and physical assets. When an irate Jimmy was banned from ringside, Miz earned a tainted victory over Jey with a little help from his stunt double, Damien Mizdow.

The rivalry between Jimmy Uso and The Miz has the entire WWE Universe buzzing. Look for things to escalate further on Raw as the WWE Tag Team Championship encounter between The Usos and The Miz & Damien Mizdow draws near.

Ambrose in the clear?

Dean Ambrose vs. Rusev: SmackDown, December 5, 2014

What will happen when The Lunatic Fringe goes face-to-face with United States Champion Rusev.

After Bray Wyatt sadistically attacked Dean Ambrose with a steel chair on SmackDown, The Lunatic Fringe was rushed to a local medical facility in Oklahoma City for severe neck trauma.

It remains to be seen how The Eater of Worlds’ vicious assault will ultimately affect this Sunday’s Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match, but it appears that Wyatt might have given himself a clear advantage at WWE’s Demolition Derby. Then again, Ambrose was able to bounce back after getting his head stomped into cinder blocks back in August. Maybe pain just makes him stronger.

UPDATE: WWE.com has learned that Dean Ambrose has been cleared for active competition. Will The Lunatic Fringe be out for redemption tonight on Raw?

Tune in to a special Slammy Awards edition of Raw at 8/7 CT on USA Network, and be sure to catch the Slammys Pre-Show at 7:30 ET, only on WWE Network.
