Update: Dusty Rhodes agrees to meet Stephanie McMahon at Raw
The McMahon-Rhodes saga has reached its latest turning point. On Saturday, just five days after Dustin "Goldust" Rhodes battled WWE Champion Randy Orton in an unsuccesful attempt to reinstate his fired brother Cody, Stephanie McMahon reached out to the Rhodes brothers' father, Dusty, with an apparent olive branch.
. @WWEDustyRhodes please accept this invitation to attend RAW this Monday in Cleveland. I have a business proposition for you. Thank you.— Stephanie McMahon (@StephMcMahon) September 14, 2013
The following morning, "The American Dream" tweeted his response to Stephanie's mysterious invite:
The history between the McMahon and Rhodes clans is well-documented and contentious. Cody, who was fired for his insubordination towards WWE COO Triple H, certainly didn't shy from calling it a vendetta, and his family was similarly frank in an exclusive WWE.com interview the next day. That said, it seems at least some semblance of a compromise is now on the table, though Stephanie was not specific on whether or not her proposal even concerns Dusty's two sons. Now that "The American Dream" has agreed to a sit-down in Cleveland, what will happen next between the McMahon and Rhodes families? Check back with WWE.com for updates on this developing story.
