Droz's picks for One Night Stand
How's it going out there, everyone? Hopefully things are going well on your end and you're all looking forward to checking out this pay-per-view. I'm feeling really good on these picks that I'm going to lay on you. So let me get started and here we go.
Triple H vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship in a Last Man Standing Match
While I thought their last match was going to be a bloodfest, there seems to be no doubt in my mind that this one is going to get nasty. Orton and The Game both are going to try to destroy each other, and although Orton has some great tricks up his sleeve, I feel that Triple H will get the better of him. Leaving him lying sprawled out is the only way in which The King of Kings can win this, and win this he will.
The Undertaker vs. Edge for the World Title in a TLC Match
Undertaker has been screwed one too many times by Edge and sweetheart Vickie Guerrero. By stripping Undertaker of his title, she surely has enraged The Deadman. One thing that's going to give The Phenom problems is the fact that it's a TLC Match and it's his first time being involved. Not that Taker won't do well, but this is where Edge seems to thrive. In my eyes, the Rated-R Superstar has a major advantage in having gone through this type of match before. However, if Taker loses, he's out of WWE for good, and he will not allow that to happen. Taker will win this match.
JBL vs. John Cena in a First Blood Match
Last PPV I went against Cena and lost. I'm torn between who to pick in this match. A First Blood Match can be very dangerous for either wrestler for the simple fact that one hard shot can bust them open and it's all over. I think Cena is going to be the one to open JBL up and win the match, but it will not be without doing some serious pounding on that thick skull.
Batista vs. Shawn Michaels in a Stretcher Match
Well people, it's tough to pick against The Animal in a Stretcher Match, but HBK is no slouch himself. I myself really enjoy this type of match just for the simple reason that these two Superstars will be out to do as much damage as possible in order to put the other on the stretcher. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to see anyone get hurt; it's just that I enjoy the amped-up physicality that comes out with this stipulation. I see Batista placing Michaels on the stretcher and getting the big win.
Umaga vs. Jeff Hardy in a Falls Count Anywhere Match
In their past few matches, these wrestlers have gone back and forth with wins, and now its time to pick it up a few notches because falls count anywhere. Size against speed is a main factor in this match, and if Jeff Hardy can stay away from too many brutal shots, he has a great chance of becoming victorious. Another thing in Hardy's favor is the fact that he can make something out of nothing and use any part in or out of the ring to execute any one of his high-flying maneuvers. Umaga has his work cut out for him and I just don't see him pulling this one out against Jeff Hardy.
Tommy Dreamer vs. John Morrison vs. CM Punk vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Big Show in an ECW Title No. 1 Contender Singapore Cane Match
Wow. You have to like this group of wrestlers being inside the ring facing each other knowing that one of them is going to get his hand on that stick and wail away. With Big Show involved in this match, it really throws a monkey wrench in everyone else's chances of pulling out the win here. I wouldn't discount Dreamer's prowess with a cane, since he is very familiar with how to use it for maximum devastation. This is really tough; no one is a slouch in this match. Well let me just lay it out there, Big Show with the win and No. 1 Contender spot for the ECW title.
Melina vs. Beth Phoenix in an "I Quit" Match
Female "I Quit" Match, very interesting. With this match, I have to go with Beth Phoenix right away. Nothing personal Melina, but that girl can work over some guys that I know in WWE. Beth Phoenix wins and Melina quits.
Well folks, I think I've done quite well with my picks, if any of you want to send an e-mail to Droz2cents@aol.com, feel free to let me know what you're thinking.
Once again, please keep our troops and their families in your thoughts and prayers. Also, in light of all the tragedies that have occurred worldwide in the past couple of weeks, it'll be great if you can add all those people in your thoughts and prayers as well.
