Level Up

Charlie Dempsey def. Bodhi Hayward via Submission

Bodhi Hayward enjoyed quite the homefield advantage on Friday night: He had the support of the raucous Chase University student section, and he was competing against Charlie Dempsey, who had mostly only competed in NXT UK, save for a loss to Andre Chase on the Aug. 30 edition of NXT 2.0.

Dempsey, however, proved to be a road warrior when he engaged the towering Hayward in a wild exchange of strikes at the opening bell and went toe-to-toe with his taller adversary.

Dempsey, who recently attacked Hayward on NXT 2.0, shook off an excruciating arm bar (as well as deafening “Let’s go Bodhi” chants) and repeatedly drove his knee into Hayward’s ribs. The Level Up newcomer then prevailed in a series of reversals to crank back on his foe’s neck and force the tapout.

Valentina Feroz def. Sol Ruca

Though she has spent the last few months mostly competing in tag team bouts alongside trusty partner Yulisa Leon, Valentina Feroz showed the WWE Universe that she still knows how to get the job done in singles competition.

She still had her work cut out for her against Sol Ruca, however, as the upstart kept Feroz off balance with her eye-opening agility and took her down with an innovative overhead slam before quickly transitioning into an armbar.

After landing several rapid-fire dropkicks and letting out a cry of “This is my jungle,” Feroz secured the 1-2-3 with a perfectly executed backslide.

Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo def. Ikemen Jiro

Given Tony D’Angelo’s demanding nature and his tendency to rule with an iron fist, it’s probably in the best interests of Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo to keep his boss happy.

Fortunately for “Stacks,” he seemingly did so by using an aggressive game plan against the eccentric Ikemen Jiro, who greeted Lorenzo with a cartwheel but immediately found himself backed into the corner and pie-faced by his opponent.

True to form, Jiro attempted to antagonize “Stacks” from bell to bell, resulting in Lorenzo coming close to losing his cool on several occasions. He nevertheless rebounded from several stinging Jacket Punches, ducked the Ikemen Slash and tattooed his foe with a kick to the face for the 1-2-3.
