Thea Hail def. Brooklyn Barlow
Thea Hail is taking her college education seriously, and adhering to the teachings of Professor Andre Chase continues to pay dividends for the enthusiastic freshman.
With Bodhi Hayward waving the Chase U flag and the student section bellowing out deafening cries of “Let’s go Thea,” Hail and Brooklyn Barlow competed at a blistering pace right from the opening bell, exchanging two-counts while going back and forth with several crafty rollups.
Barlow nearly earned the win after connecting with a wicked backbreaker and ruthlessly slamming Hail into the mat, but Hail fought back with a swinging neckbreaker and a decisive modified tornado DDT (a.k.a. Hail Yeah, as it was dubbed by Nigel McGuinness), as Chase University continue to win at an eye-opening rate on NXT Level Up.
Bryson Montana def. Ru Feng
Competing in singles and tag bouts on recent editions of NXT Level Up, Bryson Montana has captured the imagination of the WWE Universe and the attention of Quincy Elliott, who somewhat randomly came dancing down to ringside during last week’s main event and caused Montana to lose a tag bout.
Montana appeared hellbent on earning his first career win against Ru Feng, who shook the ring with an early scoop slam and later connected with a series of ferocious kicks to the chest for a long two-count.
Back on his heels, Montana snatched the hard-charging Feng and with a modified spinebuster to earn the all-important first victory.
Duke Hudson def. Hank Walker
Puffing out his chest and sarcastically applauding the WWE Universe from the second he stepped through the curtain, Duke Hudson greeted Hank Walker the same way he does all his opponents: with a sneer and utter disdain.
Hudson perhaps should have taken Walker a bit more seriously, as the self-described farm boy staggered his more experienced opponent by blitzing him with rapid-fire punches to the midsection and a sidewalk slam.
Hudson, who mocked his foe by mimicking a lasso motion, nevertheless sealed the win by dodging Walker to send him crashing into the turnbuckles and catching him with a thunderous boot to the face.
