Chris Benoit def. Booker T (New United States Champion)

At No Way Out, Chris Benoit finally got his ultimate revenge on Booker T, defeating Booker with his patented submisson hold to regain the United States Championship.

Before the match was set to begin, Booker announced that he was going to forfeit the United States Championship. It was a ploy, however, as when Benoit turned his back on Booker and headed towards Sharmell, the champion attacked and the match began.

Benoit dominated early in the bout, keeping Booker at bay with a series of suplexes. Benoit then knocked Booker to the floor, where the champion was sent crashing into the steel ring steps. Booker told referee Charles Robinson that his groin was re-injured, and as Robinson backed Benoit up, Booker revealed he was playing possum again, attacking Benoit and sending him crashing into the stairs.

Booker then tried to wear down his opponent, but Benoit escaped with a series of German suplexes. The two men went back and forth, with Benoit hitting the Three Amigos in tribute to Eddie Guerrero. Booker eventually regained control, but missed an attempt at the Houston Hangover to put both men down.

Benoit then hit a series of German suplexes, prompting Sharmell to jump on the apron. As Benoit went for a diving headbutt, Sharmell's distraction allowed Booker to catch Benoit and send him crashing to the mat. Booker then hit the Scissors Kick, but Benoit kicked out before the three count.

With Sharmell on the apron once again, Benoit countered a rollup into an attempt at the Sharpshooter, but Booker pushed him away. As he did, Benoit fell into the ropes where Sharmell was standing, knocking her off the apron. Benoit then ducked a Scissors Kick, and applied the Sharpshooter after taking the champion down. Booker fought the hold, so Benoit released and applied his patented submission instead. That proved to be the equalizer, as Booker tapped out almost immediately, giving Benoit the gold once again.
