NEWARK, N.J. — Seth Rollins made a shocking return to WWE at the conclusion of Extreme Rules, attacking WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns following the champion’s successful title defense against AJ Styles.
Rollins, who has been out of action since Nov. 4, 2015, when he was sidelined with a knee injury, slid into the ring behind the back of the celebrating champion, kicked him in the gut and nailed him with a Pedigree. He then picked up the WWE World Heavyweight Title and held the prize high above his head.
The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, who was forced to vacate the title due to his injury, did not say anything, but his intentions were clear — he wants the championship back.
