Music to Colin's ears
With his miracle victory over ECW General Manager Armando Estrada on Tuesday night, Colin Delaney officially earned ECW Superstardom. And, along with his sports-entertainment contract comes the unwritten clause of his very own entrance music -- a dream long sought after by the 172-pound competitor.
"There are seriously no words to describe how I feel right now," said an overwhelmed Delaney just moments after the biggest (and only) win of his career. "I'm most excited about being an official WWE Superstar, but one of the things I'm also looking forward to is getting my own personalized entrance song."
Weeks ago, Delaney expressed this hope of someday having his own theme music, something perhaps taken for granted by other WWE Superstars as they make their way to the ring each week. Now that Colin joins the ranks of those ring warriors in the Land of the Extreme, he has some thoughts on his pending melody.
"There have been a lot of classic theme songs," Delaney said. "So I'm hoping for something with kind of an extreme feel to it."
Looking back at ECW and its roots, everything from grunge to heavy metal, from Metallica's "Enter Sandman" to Alice in Chains' "Man in the Box" has been associated with the entrances of WWE's extreme Superstars.
"I like Tommy's entrance music a lot; it definitely has that classic ECW feel," Delaney added. "I can only wish for something like that, that fits me and my never-give-up attitude."
What type of tune will herald the emergence of Colin Delaney this coming Tuesday in his first appearance in the Land of the Extreme since capturing a contract to compete? Catch ECW on Sci Fi at 10/9 CT to find out.
