Freedom's ring

WWE will host the biggest party to celebrate our country’s patriotism, live tonight on Monday Night Raw at 9 p.m. ET on USA Network.

Less than 24 hours after the President of the United States, Barack Obama, announced the death of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, WWE joins Americans in a celebration of freedom. It is fitting that WWE celebrate this historic day in our country’s ongoing fight against terrorism, as WWE SmackDown was the first public assembly after the tragedy of Sept. 11, taking place live from Houston on Sept. 13, 2001.

That night in Houston, the spirit of America lived among the attending members of the WWE Universe and those watching at home.  “We are a proud people,” proclaimed WWE Chairman Vince McMahon in the center of the ring that evening. “Proud of who we are, proud of our nation and damn proud to be Americans.”

Perhaps no image was stronger than the stage packed with saluting Superstars sharing their genuine emotions alongside our fans. Among them stood The Rock, who also returns tonight, as the WWE Universe converges for the most electrifying entertainment in the world. (WATCH)

Do not miss this monumental edition of Monday Night Raw as the WWE Superstars pay passionate tribute to democracy and the American people, live now at 9 p.m. ET on USA Network.
