Mickie James joins ASCAP family

One of WWE's top Divas, Mickie James, has announced the signing of her American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers membership.

Since her WWE debut in 2005, the four-time Women's Champion and one-time Divas Champion plans to tag team with country music as well with the release of her album's first single in February.

As James signed off on her affiliation with the organization, she was accompanied by ASCAP Senior Vice President Connie Bradley and Nashville Director of Membership Relations Mike Sistad.

Mickie's current rivalry with fellow SmackDown Diva and Women's Champion, Michelle McCool, has created quite a stir in the WWE community. It's apparent that inside the ring James does not mix well with McCool, but outside the ring and in the music industry she successfully collaborates with colleagues.

James has co-written several cuts with Nashville song writers. Those songs are scheduled to be included on her debut album.

As the album nears completion, Mickie told CMT Blog: "As in any entertainment industry, you have to see the sheep in wolf's clothing and you have to be able to differentiate who's being real and who's just hopping on board for all the wrong reasons."

Producer Kent Wells and James expect to finish the project this week. The full album's release is estimated to debut this March.
