Help support AmeriCares' disaster relief with WWE
The Southeast region of Asia has been devastated by two natural disasters in the past three weeks with a combined death toll of more than 118,000 and thousands more left homeless.
On the night of May 2, Cyclone Nargis hit the country of Myanmar with winds capping 121 mph on land. Most of the devastation was from tidal waves and the ruthless destruction of the water coming inland.
Ten days later, a 7.9 magnitude earthquake devastated China and flattened entire villages. Within hours, several aid organizations flocked to help the Chinese tend to the wounded and homeless.
AmeriCares has been working to provide aid for both countries. Just this week, nearly three weeks after the cyclone hit, AmeriCares was the first aid organization allowed into the country to directly deliver aid. With assistance from their international partners, AmeriCares landed with critically needed supplies to help survivors.
Both Myanmar and China need medicines and equipment that will allow healthcare workers to treat injuries and illnesses. If you have not already done so, please consider making a donation to help this devastated region recover from these natural disasters.
