Jeff Hardy defies the odds
After the announcement early Sunday morning regarding Jeff Hardy's mysterious hospitalization, the rumors were buzzing in the locker room as to what may have happened to Hardy, and whether or not he would be able to make it to Survivor Series on time and in any condition to compete in the scheduled WWE Championship Match. Those rumors were further fueled by the coverage from AOL, ABC News, NBC News, and other national media outlets.
Although many of those questions have yet to be answered, Jeff Hardy did in fact make it to the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston. Unfortunately, though, he wasn't in time for the WWE Championship Match which saw Edge earn the title as a late replacement after the match was well underway.
Despite losing his place in the bout, the chair-wielding Hardy was able to make it to ringside, visibly driven by anger. Even though he was well enough to get in on the action, Hardy's only victims were Triple H and Vladimir Kozlov before he was left in anguish himself. Edge managed to counter Hardy's attack and use the opportunity to become the new WWE Champion.
