‘Best Damn' Champ plays host, part two

‘Best Damn' Champ plays host, part two

John Cena continued his hosting duties on The Best Damn Sports Show Period last night on FSN. The Champ discussed the day's hot topics in sports and interviewed a Playboy Playmate of the Year.

During the opening segment, the panel of hosts discussed the recent trend of high-profile athletes becoming fathers. Host Chris Rose posed the question: Who would you rather have as your dad -- PGA Tour golfer Tiger Woods, NBA player LeBron James or NASCAR Nextel Cup driver Jeff Gordon? All welcomed babies within the last week.

While most of the panel said they'd choose James, Cena said he'd go with Woods.

"I wouldn't mind being the son of Tiger Woods. Tiger's got it going on. He could do anything he wants," The Champ said.

"John, the nice thing is that this is the show where dreams come true," replied Rose, as a mocked up image appeared on screen of Woods kissing Cena's miniature head on the body of a baby, which garnered many laughs.

"I'm just happy to be in the family. I want to have a good time, maybe play some golf," Cena joked.

Later in the show, Cena joined Rose and co-host John Salley, one of Cena's co-stars in ABC's Fast Cars and Superstars -- The Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race, in the Shell Garage. They discussed Salley's and Cena's Gillette Young Gun mentor, NASCAR Nextel Cup driver Carl Edwards, who won Sunday's Nextel Cup race at Michigan International Speedway.

"That was a great win for Carl. He got to celebrate it with good people," Cena said. "I know for a fact. I called him on Sunday. He had a great day on Sunday."

Finally, after a segment highlighting Tiffany Fallon, Playboy's 2005 Playmate of the Year, Cena interviewed the beauty backstage, where he asked her what she thought of the Best Damn hosts. Fallon said the guys were quite coy with her.

"I wonder why?" joked The Champ, obviously smitten.

After wrapping up his interview with Fallon, the smiling backstage reporter said, "Guys, I'm going to need some alone time. Back to you."

Cena will wrap up hosting duties on tomorrow night's Best Damn Sports Show. Don't forget to tune in to the season finale of Fast Cars, featuring Cena, Sunday at 7 p.m. ET on ABC.
