Wrestling Chatterbox Editor, Georgiann Makropoulos passes away at 67
WWE.com is saddened to report the passing of longtime Wrestling Chatterbox Editor, Georgiann Makropoulos who died this past Tuesday at the age of 67.
Georgie, as she was known to her friends, was a fan and friend to many wrestlers who journeyed through the WWWF (World Wide Wrestling Federation, now WWE) in New York, including Bruno Sammartino, "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers, Bill Watts and many others for whom she maintained fan clubs as a young fan. Georgie loved WWWF and WWE so much that she had the same ringside seats at Madison Square Garden for more than 20 years, until the arena ended their subscription service allowing fans to reserve their same seats monthly. Over the years, Georgie was best known for reporting fan-friendly news such as wrestlers' birthdays, personal appearances, new wrestling merchandise debuts and more.
Georgiann Makropoulos loved pro wrestling. Many people whose lives Georgie touched through the decades are mourning her death and celebrating her life this week.
