McMahon honored as 2008 CableFAX Hall of Fame inductee; WWE awarded with "Best Surprise Ending"

In the October 2008 edition of CableFAX: The Magazine, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was honored as one of the 2008 CableFAX Hall of Fame inductees, while WWE was one of the proud recipients in the magazine's Program Awards issue, earning the  "Best Surprise Ending" award.

McMahon's 2008 Hall of Fame induction is discussed extensively in the CableFAX article. The piece states that while the small screen has become a hotbed of reality television, McMahon has developed WWE into a mainstay television product as well as a global commodity, because of the Chairman's willingness to live on the edge to give the WWE Universe the product they desire.

The "Best Surprise Ending" award stems from the June 11, 2007 edition of Raw. As Mr. McMahon solemnly exited the arena to a chorus of boos, he walked past several WWE Superstars and into the parking lot where his white limousine was waiting for him. When he stepped into the limo and shut the door, the entire WWE Universe was shocked to witness the Chairman's limo burst into flames as it exploded right before their eyes. The very next day, the page views on WWE.com rose astronomically as fans tried to figure out the fate of Mr. McMahon.
