John Cena tweets video of 595-pound squat, annihilates leg day

Let’s try this again: A few weeks ago, John Cena tweeted a video of himself squatting 396 pounds, which many had mistakenly pegged as a higher toll before correcting to reflect the accurate tonnage.

Well, now he’s done it for real.

Two days before battling Kevin Owens in a must-see rematch at WWE Money in the Bank 2015, the reigning, defending U.S. Champion hit the gym and squatted a full-blown 595 pounds, a feat he filmed in one slow-motion take, lest mere mortals such as ourselves choose to nitpick The Champ’s form. (For the record, it was impeccable.) All of which is to say that, in addition to the many axioms Cena already lives by — “Never Give Up,” “Hustle, Loyalty Respect” — the WWE Universe can now add a lesser-known proverb to The Champ’s arsenal: Friends don’t let friends skip leg day.
