The Kendal Grey era of NXT begins with CAKE!
NXT Tag Team Champions The Vanity Project def. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. & Galeno
Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes staved off a serious threat to their NXT Tag Team Title as they extinguished AAA’s El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno.
The challengers had a significant power advantage, but they also used their sneaky athleticism to keep the champions off their game.
The champions weathered the storm and thanks to a timely distraction from Jackson Drake, Baylor and Smokes executed a perfect leg sweep/top rope stomp to retain their gold.
Jackson Drake def. Mason Rook
Jackson Drake earned a major victory over Mason Rook, but he paid dearly for it.
Both Superstars went all out as Drake hit a remarkable Lionsault-esque doublestomp, while Rook hit an incredible Blue Thunderbomb. However, not even a massive sit-out powerbomb was enough to give Rook the win.
The numbers advantage of Vanity Project proved to be the difference as Ricky Smokes distracted Rook and Myka Lockwood held down Rook to give Drake the win.
After the match, Rook went on a rampage and took out the entire Vanity Project.
EK Prosper def. Keanu Carver
Keanu Carver attacked AAA Latin American Champion El Hijo de Vikingo and took his spot against EK Prosper, but a ghost from his past came back to haunt him.
Carver was brutalizing Prosper and smashed Prosper on the announce table, but Tank Ledger appeared and got some payback on Carver on behalf of Hank Walker, allowing Prosper to steal the win.
Jaida Parker def. Karmen Petrovic
Jaida Parker is back in the win column as Nattie’s group suffered its first setback.
Parker brought the fight to the outside, but was immediately trapped by Nattie and Evolve Women’s Champion Nikkita Lyons. However, Layla Diggs hesitated and didn’t strike Parker.
That allowed Parker to get back into the action and hit Hipnotic and Deja Vu to defeat Petrovic.
Naraku unleashes a blindside steel chair attack on Tony D’Angelo
Kelani Jordan def. Tatum Paxley
Kelani Jordan proved that she’s worthy of a championship opportunity by defeating former NXT Women’s Champion and Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley.
The two NXT stalwarts had each other perfectly scouted as Jordan’s athleticism and high-flying game was consistently neutralized by the unorthodox and mat-based Paxley.
In the midst of the battle, NXT Women’s Champion Kendal Grey sat ringside and was blindsided by Kali Armstrong.
Jordan set Paxley up perfectly with an Olympic Slam before hitting a match-ending One-of-a-Kind Split-Legged Moonsault.
After the match, a new Superstar jumped into the ring and attacked Paxley.
