Catching up with Molly Holly: Part 2

Catching up with Molly Holly: Part 2

After learning that there would be no Women's Championship Match at WrestleMania XX, Nora "Molly Holly" Greenwald knew she needed a plan.

"I'm not a Playboy Playmate and I can't do a triple flip, so I had to come up with something that would make them put me on the show."

Greenwald's idea would become the defining moment of her career — a match against Victoria in which the loser would have their head shaved bald. Nora lost the bout and had her hair cut off in front of more than 20,000 fans in New York City's Madison Square Garden. (PHOTOS) Surprisingly, Greenwald enjoyed the scalp job more than one might expect.

"Having my hair shaved was the best haircut," Nora revealed. "If it was socially acceptable for someone with my personality to have a shaved head, I totally would have left it. It was such a freeing experience."

While the Hair vs. Title Match was a major success that would ultimately become a memorable part of WrestleMania history, it also had a downside.

"Once you get your head shaved at WrestleMania, what can you do to top that?" Nora said. "I had already been Women's Champion, I was in some video games, I had an action figure. As far as my career goes, I was starting to feel that I had done it all."

Feeling less than passionate about her job, Greenwald asked Mr. McMahon for her release. The two reached an amicable agreement and Nora left the company in 2005.

Immediately, the Minnesota native got reacquainted with the things she missed while on the road, including friends, family and charity work. (PHOTOS)

"Right away I started volunteering," Nora said. "I lived in Guatemala for four months. I spent the majority of my time learning Spanish, but I also did some volunteering at an orphanage and a local church."

Back home, she also began working for no pay at a local charity called Teen Challenge. Leaving her stardom behind, she drove residents of a local addiction recovery center to doctor and dentist's appointments. Thrilled by the experience, Nora started donating more of her time to working with youths.

"More opportunities opened up and I really started to make connections with the residents and develop friendships," Nora said. "I love people and it was just really inspiring to see them actually change."

After being moved by her time with Teen Challenge, Greenwald became involved with a group called Know the Truth, which focuses on teaching drug prevention to children. When WWE.com caught up with Nora, she was visiting her former high school to speak with the students there.

"I give them tips on how to say no to drugs without being a big nerd," Nora said. "I'm just an average girl from Minnesota and I feel like my decision not to use drugs and alcohol really helped me make the clear-minded decisions that led to my success."

Her WWE career has also given her a unique advantage when it comes to grasping attention in the classroom.

"It's amazing how many people tell me, ‘Oh, you're that girl that I was playing in the video game!'"

Outside of her charity work, Greenwald has pursued other hobbies since leaving the ring.

"I have been doing photography," Nora revealed. "I just had an exhibition at a local coffee shop of photos I took while I was in Guatemala. A percent of those sales went to missions and people of Guatemala."

Nora also continues to make occasional appearances in the ring, including an impressive performance in the 25-Diva Battle Royal at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania.

"It's really fun when they ask me back," Nora said. "I'm always flattered when they remember me."

While she remains humble, Greenwald hopes more than anything that she managed to positively affect the WWE Universe.

"I never really knew what I wanted to be when I grew up, but I knew that I wanted to somehow make a positive difference in the world," Nora said. "I really thank WWE for all the opportunities to make a difference in the lives of young fans."
