UPDATE: Zack Ryder suffers knee injury during WWE Main Event tapings
UPDATE: One day after reporting that he had injured his knee, Zack Ryder posted a post-MRI update on Twitter, and it's good news for the former Intercontinental Champion.
As the Raw roster prepares for Friday’s Greatest Royal Rumble event, one veteran Superstar is not making the trip to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Zack Ryder suffered a knee injury during a match against Mike Kanellis during a WWE Main Event taping Monday night, forcing the former Intercontinental Champion to return to Orlando for an MRI instead of joining his fellow Superstars in Saudi Arabia. Ryder shared the news on his Instagram account, and despite the situation, he appeared to be in good spirits.

This picture was taken last night before my match against @therealmichaelbennett on @WWE #MainEvent. We both treated it like we were wrestling on #Raw...but unfortunately, I suffered a knee injury. While the rest of the roster is flying to Saudi Arabia today for #WWEGRR, I’m flying back to Orlando to get a MRI. I’ll keep you posted......and I’ll be back.
Keep checking back with WWE.com for updates on Ryder’s status.
