The Chicago Cubs clinched their first World Series championship since 1908, so WWE and Chief Operating Officer Triple H showed their respect by sending a custom WWE World Championship to MVP Ben Zobrist and his squad. The Cubs defeated the Cleveland Indians 8-7 in the last of a thrilling seven-game series, overcoming a 3-1 game deficit.

Chicago’s potent offense paved the way for the World Series crown, with second baseman Zobrist hitting .357 and first baseman Anthony Rizzo batting .360 in the series. A rain delay briefly halted the game at the end of the ninth inning, but Zobrist delivered in the 10th with a go-ahead RBI double.

The Cubbies got their share of support from the WWE locker room throughout the MLB postseason. WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts released a hype video on Diamond Dallas Page’s YouTube channel to get the Chicago faithful psyched for game six.

Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, who threw out the first pitch at Wrigley Field earlier this season, was cheering the team on while traveling for the WWE Live Tour throughout the United Kingdom and Europe.

Chicago received a custom WWE World Championship in June 2015 when the Chicago Blackhawks captured their sixth NHL Stanley Cup.

The Cubs have a young and exciting core, and with the 108-year-old monkey off their back, perhaps more custom championships will be heading to Wrigleyville in the near future.
