Rosa Mendes celebrates 10-year anniversary in WWE
One of the longest tenured female Superstars just reached a major milestone in her WWE career.
This week, Rosa Mendes celebrated her 10-year anniversary with WWE. She reflected on her many unforgettable moments from her time in WWE and her plans for the future with a heartfelt post on Instagram.
“WWE has been my home and my family,” her post stated. “I have experienced the best moments in my life in front of the WWE Universe.”
Mendes first introduced herself to the WWE Universe as a Diva Search contestant in 2006. Days after being eliminated from the competition in August of that year, she was one of three contestants to sign a developmental contract with WWE, joining a trio which also included Maryse. From the moment she signed on the dotted line, Mendes knew she would need to prove herself to the WWE Universe.
“I just want to show them that I can do this," Mendes said to WWE.com in 2006.
Ten years later, she is a Slammy Award winner, a “Total Divas” cast member and a Superstar who has continuously represented the WWE Universe around the world.
She stepped away from the squared circle last February after giving birth to a baby girl, but admitted on Instagram that she’s not done with WWE just yet.
“Now I'm ready for the next chapter in WWE,” she said. “I'm ready to compete in that ring and show the world that a new mother can come back stronger than ever.”
