A must-have for collectors of classic WWE memorabilia, the “tarnished” WWE Intercontinental Championship Replica Title recreates the iconic red-logo design associated with WWE’s 1985-1987 era and is available now at WWE Shop.

This 1985-1987 version of the Intercontinental Championship replicates title carried by WWE Hall of Famers Tito Santana, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and The Honky Tonk Man – and famously defended at WrestleMania III in the legendary Savage vs. Steamboat match, considered by many fans to be the greatest match of all time.

The tarnished look is especially associated with Savage’s reign. Collector accounts say Savage used metal polish while trying to keep the plates bright, stripping away much of the gold plating and revealing more of the underlying metal across the globe and red logo. To faithfully capture this version, the replica was measured and modeled from the actual title. Its "tarnished" effect and color treatment were also taken from that archival title, along with its distinctive proportions, plate layout, finish and strap details.

The center and side plates feature "tarnished" gold paint for a muted, timeworn appearance. The red WWE logo is debossed rather than embossed, while the uniquely designed globe has its blue paint stripped away. The black ribbons carrying “INTERCONTINENTAL” and “HEAVYWEIGHT WRESTLING CHAMPION” also feature stripped black paint, emphasizing the raised lettering and vintage character.

The title includes four matching side plates, omits the fifth side-plate position found on other versions and features a black strap with different tooling. These details distinguish it from the brighter next iteration that debuted in February 1988, making the “tarnished” edition an essential addition to any serious WWE championship collection.
