Pittsburgh Penguins celebrate 2017 Stanley Cup with custom WWE Title
The Pittsburgh Penguins bested the Nashville Predators in six games to become the first team to win back-to-back NHL Stanley Cups since 1998, and Triple H sent Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and company a custom WWE Championship to celebrate.
The Predators had Rusev and Lana cheering them on during their magical postseason run, but it wasn’t enough to upend Kurt Angle, Corey Graves and Shawn Michaels’ Penguins. Michaels started to follow the Penguins last postseason after a trio of Penguins stars — Carl Hagelin, Nick Bonino and Phil Kessel — started to be called the “HBK line.” Angle and Graves celebrated the victory Sunday night.
The Penguins became the first team to receive multiple custom WWE Championships with their back-to-back runs.
Congratulations to the Penguins on the fifth Stanley Cup in the franchise’s 50-year history.
